Boulder, Colorado - November 13, 2006 - New Millennium Communications announces an upgrade to SecureFM, the premier security plug-in for FileMaker Pro. SecureFM is the best solution available to protect your data and customize FileMaker Pro's menus.

*** SecureFM 8.5 is now fully compatible with FileMaker Pro 8.5 for both Windows and Macintosh (both PPC and Intel). ***

SecureFM provides the ability to selectively disable FileMaker menus (such as the entire Window menu) and individual menu items, such as New Database, Delete Record, Delete All, Replace, New Record, Close, or Exit/Quit (and their associated keyboard equivalents) while keeping other menu items available to the user, thereby preventing the undesired creation, modification, or deletion of data. Disabled functions can continue to be executed by script, giving a developer or system administrator complete control over the conditions under which a user can access them.

Enhancements in SecureFM 8.5:

- SecureFM 8.5 is now fully compatible with FileMaker Pro 8.5 for both Windows and Macintosh (Universal).

- SecureFM's Menu Editor can now calculate Disable, Rename, and Script strings for FileMaker Pro 8.5, 8.5 Advanced, and Runtime menus, as well as for FileMaker 7 and 8.0 menus.

- A new Hot Key Tool file gives you a handy environment to quickly define and test Hot Key strings.

SecureFM gives you the power to:

1. Disable individual menu items and their keyboard equivalents, at startup or on-the-fly, mode-specific, user-specific.

2. Remove or disable individual menus or the entire menu bar.

3. Dynamically disable menus and menu items without running a script.

4. Disable the Minimize, Maximize, Restore, and Close boxes.

5. Selectively hide the toolbars and disable contextual menus.

6. Assign a password so that only the developer can change these menu definitions.

7. Create a default setting to disable selected menu items as soon as FileMaker is launched.

8. Manage your menus for all files from a single interface.

9. Rename menus and menu items.

10. Call your own scripts from menu items instead of the FileMaker function.

11. Call scripts from hotkeys that you define (any keys), with or without modifier keys.

12. Trigger scripts from a calculation, including when exiting a field.

13. Trigger scripts when the window changes.

14. Create context-dependent menus - menus are automatically changed, dependent on any of the following: the file, the table occurrence, the layout, or the window.

15. Create context-triggered scripts - trigger a script when the context changes.

16. Control the FMP application window - set the size of the application windows on the Windows platform.

Advantages of SecureFM 8.5 over FileMaker Pro Advanced's custom menus feature:

1. Allows you to modify ALL menus. In FileMaker 8's custom menu feature, many menu items cannot be modified. For instance, SecureFM allows you to disable, rename, and/or script the Quit/Exit menu item.

2. SecureFM allows you to define menus centrally. You can define sets of menus to apply to all files open, or to specific files, table occurrences, layouts, and/or windows. FileMaker 8 requires that menus be defined separately in each file.

3. Menus can be dynamically tied to context elements (file, table occurrence, layout, window). This is much easier to implement and more reliable, since menus can apply to new layouts automatically.

4. Dynamic use of Menu Sets: Using regular expressions, SecureFM allows you to assign custom menus to groups of files, table occurrences, layouts, or windows that share some common element in their names.

5. Full control over window widget buttons: Allows you to modify both the application and window closeboxes, as well as the minimize, maximize and restore widgets.

6. SecureFM 8.5 works with FMP 7, as well as with FMP 8 and 8.5.

7. HotKeys!: Remap any key - with or without a modifier key - to call your own custom scripts.

8. Trigger a script any time a user changes the file, layout, or window. In fact, SecureFM can be used to leverage the functionality of FMP 8's custom menus, by changing the custom menus when the context changes.

9. Trigger scripts when exiting a field.

10. With a single command, remove the entire FileMaker menu bar, disable all command keys, and disable window buttons like close, maximize, and minimize.

11. FMP application window control - enables you to set the size of the application window on the Windows platform.
